Refund & Cancellation Policy

At Shahi Tiffin Box (operated by Shahi Tadka Cafe & Restaurant), we are committed to providing high-quality, authentic meals. Please read this policy carefully before placing your order, as it outlines your rights and our obligations under Australian Consumer Law.

1. Order Cut-Off & Acceptance

  • Order Deadline: To guarantee freshness, all orders for the upcoming Tuesday pickup must be placed by the end of Monday (11:59 PM). Orders placed after this time may be allocated to the following week or cancelled at our discretion.
  • Right to Decline: We reserve the right to accept or decline any order due to capacity limits or ingredient availability. If we decline your order, you will receive a full 100% refund immediately.

2. Cancellations by You We understand that plans change. If you need to cancel your order, you must contact us by Phone (0480 750 131) or Email (info@shahitadka.com.au).

  • Before Sunday (Deadline): If you cancel before Sunday (11:59 PM) prior to your pickup day, we will refund your order amount.
    • Note: A small processing fee (approx. 1.75% – 2.9%) charged by payment providers (Stripe, Apple Pay, Google Pay) is non-refundable, as these banks do not return fees to us. We will refund the remaining balance to your original payment method.
  • After Sunday: Cancellations made on Monday or Tuesday cannot be refunded. By this time, ingredients have been purchased and preparation has begun specifically for your box.

3. Returns & Refunds (Consumer Guarantees) Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Major Failures: You are entitled to a full refund or replacement if the food has a “major failure.” A major failure includes:

  • The food is unsafe to eat.
  • The food is significantly different from the Menu Item ordered (e.g., you ordered Vegetarian but received Meat).
  • The food is unfit for its purpose.

Change of Mind: Please choose carefully. We do not provide refunds if you simply change your mind, find the food “too spicy” or “not to your personal taste,” or if you forget to pick up your order on Tuesday.

Uncollected Orders: It is your responsibility to collect your boxes between 06:00 PM – 10:00 PM on Tuesday. If you fail to collect your order during this window, we cannot offer a refund or replacement, as the food is cooked fresh and cannot be resold.

4. Dietary & Allergen Warning Please be aware that our food is prepared in a commercial kitchen that handles nuts, dairy, gluten, shellfish, and other allergens. Since our weekly menu changes regularly, we cannot guarantee that any meal is 100% allergen-free. If you have a severe allergy, please contact us before ordering.

5. Need Help? If there is an issue with your order, please contact us immediately so we can resolve it.
